Angela Merkel and Helle Thorning-Schmidt to talk at UCPH

The German Chancellor and the Danish Prime Minister will take student questions at UCPH debate on Europe's challenges

Students will have the chance to grill two major EU leaders about European politics on Tuesday.

The German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt will meet at the University of Copenhagen to discuss the political and economic challenges facing Europe today and in the future.

Students will have the opportunity to take questions from the leaders after they each present short speeches.

Immigration is expected to be a key topic, as European leaders debate how to distribute asylum seekers who apply for protection from the EU.

Prorector for Education Lykke Friis will moderate the event, which takes place at UCPH central campus in Frue Plads. Details are listed below.
